I can't explain how much better I feel about my kitchen now. It's still far, far faaar from a dream kitchen, but the thought of being in it now and cooking makes me less gaggy. Who knew a cheap temporary patch could really lift the spirits like this?

That looks so great, I'm jealous! I've been looking at that same b&w checker pattern and it looks so nice and fresh! You'll have to keep us updated on how easy it is to keep clean, I have had people tell me that white on the kitchen floor is a bad idea and I have been hemming and hawing. Yours looks awesome! Did you seal it with anything or do you just glue it down and you're good to go?
DAHH!! So cute! So very very cute!!
Hey Anne,
Thanks! Yeah, I wonder how much traffic will show with the white squares. Only time will tell, I guess!
But to answer your question. We didn't use any sealant. It's vinyl and pretty easy to install and keep up. We just laid the glue down, and then rolled the vinyl over it. It was for the most part, pretty painless!
Congrats, it looks fab!
I've actually been considering sheet linoleum for a "for now" fix in our kitchen. You'll have to update us on how you like it
That looks awesome! I absolutely love it. Brian and I might have to copy your idea for our bathroom...
